A Different Sign

I am turning my kids into a guinea pigs. Since we have discovered some learning difficulties I am going to try something. So a book I have been reading on Dyslexia and is says some word cause a blank in the mind of the dyslexic because there is no picture to help the Dyslexic person to understand it's meaning. It says that the Dyslexic person thinks in pictures and words like, to, and, but...... these don't have a picture to associate with like word cat or run. So I chose to slow my reading down and figure out what pictures showed up in my head as I read, since I too am dyslexic. I noticed that for many of the "blank" words sign pictures popped into my head. So I am going to teach my children sign language as we go along so they can learn to read easier. I am really hoping that this will help them as they grow and learn. but this should also cover their foregin language in school as they get older, since we are home schooling. Here is to hoping this makes a difference in their schooling experience. Tomorrow I start signing and talking to them so they will pick it up faster. I hope it won't be too difficult or tire out my arm to much. I love my kids and will do what I can to help them out. I am so thankful I was encouraged as a child to learn this second language. It sure is awesome to see how God works by allowing me to learn Sign I will be able to teach my children better. GOD IS SOOO GOOD!

God's House is to be respected!

OH my goodness VBS was wonderful this year. We had a great time! I will have to post pics later or add them to this post later. I am tired. I will write more but Samantha had a wonderful time at her first year of VBS and I enjoyed teaching music this year. I hope to do it again next year or be involved somehow. I am excited it was a great deal of fun! I only pray God used it to work through the lives of each of those children even the ones that misbehaved and were uncontrolable and distructive. I get frustrated when people don't disaplin their children. There were a few that just don't have respect for other's things and that includes GOD's house. It is disheartining to see people raising their children to disrespect God's house by not correcting their children's behavior and letting them get into anything and everything they want to and distroy God's house. OH how I pray God will lay this on parents hearts to teach respect for GOD and His house. IT IS NOT JUST ANOTHER BUILDING. OK I am done with my rant. I will post happier and fun things in a day or two.

THanks I needed to vent.

Camping and Gardening

Well, Kyle came home and we went camping with the Passinetti Family. We had a great time even though I forgot many of the food items we all surrvived. The kids had a great time playing in the dirt and running around in the woods. The Passinetti children who are much older then mine had fun falling into and playing in the creek we camped by. It was fun to relax and enjoy God's beauty. My favorite part was the last day I was first up at 6am coudn't get back to sleep so I spent the next 1hour and 45 minutes reading the bible and spending time with the creator. Made the day start off with peace and most important Jesus. We came home and it was ooooooh so nice to sleep in my own bed.

Our garden has grown a great deal and I caught a Marmet. Many of my plants had been eaten. All of my spinich, callard, and raddish leaves were gone and some of my Kalarobi and green been leaves were eaten yesterday morning so I asked our neighbor Bill if he had any ideas on what to do. then we saw something move around between our garages so he let me barrow a trap then a few hours later I had what I thought was a LARGE squarl. Bill corrected me and low and behold we have a Marmet. Very happy to not have any more of my greens being eaten. Lots of exciting adventures here at the Klaue house. I did just spend 2 hours weeding and planting in the empty lot next to us. Bill has graciously allowed us to plant and use his land. I have Corn, Green beans, bell & hot peppers, okra, zuccini, honeydew, watermellon, cucumbers, tomatoes, potatoes, garlic, bib lettuce, romaine lettuce, and mixed greens.
That's all just the empty lot.... in our yard we have carrots, raddishes, green beans, purple green beans, black beans, hot & bell peppers, tomatoes, basil, kalarobi, purple onions, honey dew, watermellon, cantalope, straight neck squash, zuccini, crookneck squash, acorn squash, pumpkin, okra, celery. we should have a nice harvest this year! We are excited!

The kids are having a great time playing outside and enjoying the warm weather. Kyle is liking not driving in any snow while he is working and I am loving not being cooped up inside. I like that I can go for walks and take the kids to the play ground and not worry about if it is too icy or whatever all that winter stuff brings. Bring on the summer!

Gardening, a nice start to summer.

We have finally gotten our garden up and I am loving it. Our neighbor Bill has let us also plant int he empty lot he usually gardens due to his new empty lot right next to his house. SO.... we have an extra garden space this year !!! WOOO HOOO corn is what I have planted as well as many other things. I am so excited to dive on into this the kids are old enough to keep occupied while I am weeding or planting or whatever. It is like a breath of fresh air. It will be great to reap the harvest in I am excited. I have a friend that lives in an appartment that plans to help weed and thus share in the harvest. There is another lady down the street that has asked to participate too but I am not sure if she is going to or not. It sounds to me like she just wants the harvest and not any of the work. We shall see.

The kids are enjoying the warmer weather and love playing outside. Think we will need to get a new bike soon as they fight over the only trike we have. We walk Monday, Wednesday, & Friday with a couple ladies from our church and it is a wonderful 1.5 mile walk with some great hills that really work us out. The park we walk at is called Manito (that's pronounced man-a-toe) is a beautiful peaceful and HUGE park. I love this place. I have been walking there for at least 6 years now. I started out walking there on my own and enjoyed the peacful walk with Jesus in the mornings. Now I share it with friends and enjoy the complany. It is a great way to get some excersize. The kids enjoy it too they love to see people walking with their dogs or even a rainbow in someone's sprinklers. It is a wonderful senic walk.

We are now planing on a camping trip when Kyle gets home this time around. Our first tent camping in 5 years. wow it has been a long time. We have been camping in that 5 years but we had a trailer, which was great when the kids were babies and I was prego. I am excited and can't wait to get some R&R.

Well here's to a new blog spot. Hoping to keep this up better then myspace and stuff. They are wearing thin on me but it is a great way to conect with people I haven't seen in years. Love you family and friends and I miss you all who are far away!!!
